Two porcelain snuff bottles
Republic period
The first of compressed globular shape with a wide, flat rim and oval foot ring, decorated to either side in the famille noire palette with birds amid flowering peony; the second of elongated quadrangular form and flaring neck, the rounded shoulders painted in red enamel with scrolling tendrils above bai shou, each panel with twenty-five archaic characters and tapering to a short circular foot ring bearing a Yongzheng mark.
