Footnotes

  • 百達翡麗 罕有 18K黃金男裝手動上弦計時碼錶 製於1944年

Patek Philippe began production of the reference 130 in 1934. It is most commonly found in yellow gold, and rare to find examples in steel. The reference 130 in steel seems to have a special numbering system; whereby the case number is followed by a two digit number, representing the number from production.
There were also different versions of the dial; the earlier models featured two-tone dials whereas this model exhibits the attractive simpler version with the outer printed scale.
This present lot, in very good condition for its age, is a fine example of how a vintage collectible can also be a statement worthy daily wrist piece.
Examples of Reference 130 chronographs are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 263
