Footnotes

  • 歐米茄 鍍金精鋼男裝手動上弦腕錶 約1950年

Inspired by the Railmaster, Seamaster 300 and arrowhead hand of the 1957 Speedmaster, the Ranchero was introduced in 1958 as the 'little brother' of the Railmaster. In production for just 2 years, the watch encountered resistance in Spanish-speaking countries who were dissuaded by a name that means 'rancher'. The name later experienced a short revival in Belgium in 1976 as it was felt that the Ranchero's attractive dial, desirable Omega characteristics and entry level model would stimulate interest in Seamasters.
The Ranchero series is quite rare today. It is regarded by collectors as one of the most famous of the lost lines and enjoys high prices in the vintage watch market due to its scarcity and collectibility. The Ranchero model is on exhibit at the Omega Museum in Switzerland and it is illustrated in Omega Saga by Marco Richon, p. 486.
