- Born in Hong Kong in 1948 of Guangdong Panyu descent, Liu Guowei immigrated to San Francisco with his family in 1964. Together with his father, he studied under Huang Leisheng (1928-2011) and Zheng Yuebo (1907-1991) for many years. Liu's keen interest in Chinese painting was ignited at an early age when he saw his father's prized collection of a Qi Baishi catalogue published in 1959. Since then, he has painted in the style of Qi, often depicting familiar subjects such as fruit, crabs and cats, conveying feelings, freshness and spontaneity in life.

劉國偉，1948年出生於香港，祖籍廣東番禺，1964年隨家人移居美國舊金山。父子兩人曾多年師從黃磊生（1928-2011）和鄭月波（1907-1991）。劉國偉因幼年時期看到父親珍藏的齊白石1959年出版畫冊，對國畫產生了濃厚的興趣，並追隨齊派風格至今。他常描繪瓜果、螃蟹、小貓等題材，充分展現萬物有情和生活趣味。
