The sturdily cast deity of wealth portrayed in a trinity of entities, seated on a caparisoned recumbent water buffalo with all three pairs of legs spread open, the body adorned with a skull necklace and a sash across his bare chest and wearing a simple dhoti with three pairs of arms extended in various mudra, his six heads showing different expressions of fierceness and benevolence.

  • Yamantaka is the wrathful manifestation of Manjusri, the bodhisattva of wisdom, and also a dharmapala or dharma protector. In Mahayana Buddhism, Yamantaka is also the deity of the Highest Yoga Tantra class in Vajrayana.
