A white jade 'egret' belt plaque
Yuan dynasty
Exquisitely worked in reticulation with a central incurving lotus leaf, surrounded by four egrets feeding amidst lotus plants, all deeply undercut with a subsidiary background pattern of plant tendrils polished to a soft luster, the matrix tinged with ochre veins and natural fissure lines along the extremities.
8.2cm wide.
