A square Yixing teapot and cover
Late Qing dynasty / early Republican period, signed Xu Licheng
Of square form rising from the V-shaped foot at each angle, applied with a swan-neck spout and a 'C'-shaped rectangular handle, the skilfully fitted cover of flat rectangular form surmounted by a small square knop, one side with moulded inscription in clerical or lishu style, the base with a zhuanshu square seal mark, the clay of a rich reddish-brown tone.
