A large Yixing appliqué-decorated 'lion' teapot and cover
Early Qing dynasty
Of compressed globular form rising from a slightly recessed foot, applied with a loop handle set opposite a swan neck spout, the body appliqué-decorated on each side with a pair of chi dragons above a detach sprig of peony, the cover surmounted by a finial in the form of two recumbent lion dogs with their feathery bodies deftly incised.

    清早期 紫泥雙獅鈕貼花夔龍紋大壺

    壺身橢圓形,折肩,二彎流,正耳把,壺身採用貼泥技藝貼飾纏枝牡丹及夔龍紋,平蓋微鼓,上飾兩大小獅嬉戲,小獅匍伏,仰望大獅,大獅蹲坐,一前爪搭小獅腰間,生動逼真。紫泥作胎,泥質精煉,色澤深沉,整器大氣磅礴又帶幾分意趣。

    此類貼花大壺多為清康熙年間出口歐洲而作,部分壺出口至歐洲後會以銀質再作包鑲或再加彩裝飾,參看和正齋藏一件清康熙太師少師鈕貼花夔龍紋大壺,仍保留歐洲銀質包鑲,其形制與該壺相同。另見香港邦瀚斯拍出一件清紫泥貼花加彩獅鈕大壺,2012年5月27日,拍品609。
