• The 'ox' waterpot is also called xizun, of which the prototype is a bronze ritual vessel of the Warring States period. Compare another waterpot with similar form but with different artist's signature, reputedly from the collection of Chen Keli, sold in these rooms, 27 May 2012, lot 552.
  
  清 陳仲美款紫泥摻沙仿古犧尊壺
  
  「仲美」
  
  尊壺呈牛形，牛抬首，雙眼目視前方，兩耳直立，嘴為壺口，鼓腹，頸部飾項圈，後塑如意形短尾，背部有一盾形小蓋，四足呈圓柱形直立，腹部下陰刻「仲美」楷書款。紫泥泥質，中可見金色粗砂，如梨皮質感。
  
  陳仲美技藝全面，製器多樣。明人周高起在《陽羨茗壺系•神品》中曾評論他「好配壺土，意造諸玩，如香盒、花杯、狻猊爐、辟邪鎮紙，重鎪疊刻，細極鬼工。」
  
  犧尊為戰國時期青銅彝器，其形制至清代在其他類形工藝品上均有仿製。參看器形相似的另一件紫泥摻沙梨皮仿古提梁犧尊壺，或屬陵陽陳克立舊藏，後於香港邦瀚斯拍賣，2012年5月27日，拍品552。
