• Huang Yulin (ca.1842 – 1914) was a native of Yixing, who received training from the renowned Qing dynasty Yixing artist Shao Xiangpu. Huang's superb skills of clay kneading and teapot making are often demonstrated on teapots in various forms. Gu Jingzhou had also highly admired Huang's craftsmanship and commended him as a 'versatile potter' especially for making teapots of compressed globular and square forms.
  
  Wu Changshuo (1844 – 1927), the founder of the Xiling Society of Seal Arts, devoted himself to poetry and calligraphy with a strong interest in early scripts, and later became a scholar connoisseur of Yixing teapots. However, as it is rare to see Wu's carving on Yixing teapots and the inscription on the current example is stylistically different from Wu's calligraphy, it appears likely that the inscription is later.

  壺扁圓身，底部微凹，短流，單耳把，壺蓋微鼓，蓋上作一桃鈕，蓋內側鈐「玉麟」篆文方印。壺身一面素面，另一面以行楷陰刻詩文：「楳梢春雪活火煎，山中人兮仙乎仙。癸卯夏，昌碩銘，玉麟製。」整壺製作工整，選泥考究，瑩潔圓湛，腴潤有之。
  
  黃玉麟（約1842 – 1914年），宜興蜀山人，自幼從邵湘甫學藝，善製掇球、供春以及魚化龍各式壺，曾為吳大澂等製壺。玉麟製壺，選泥尤為講究，配色則得古法。顧景舟曾在《宜興紫砂珍賞•紫砂陶史概論》中評論其為：「自大亨後唯一傑出人物，技藝上市多面手，方、圓器形都擅長，每器紋樣、細部、結構、銜接、刻劃，均清晰乾淨。」玉麟晚年製壺更是精心構選，制器瑩潔圓潤，精巧工整。
  
  吳昌碩（1844 – 1927年），清末民初著名書畫家、篆刻家，原名俊，字昌碩，浙江安吉人。久居上海，工詩文、書法，擅寫石鼓文，並精於篆刻，並在浙江杭州創立「西泠印社」，其雕刻雄渾蒼老，創為一派。吳昌碩愛好壺藝，相傳其上海寓所中，案頭常置一砂壺，壺身鐫有兩隻靈龜，為任伯年手筆。帶有吳昌碩銘文之黃玉麟製壺例子，刻參考顧景舟編，《宜興紫砂珍賞》，香港，2008年，頁138，圖版131。此壺所刻銘文較吳昌碩字體氣韻尚欠，或為偽託。
