A Jizhou 'floral and phoenix' tea bowl
Southern Song Dynasty
Of conical form rising to a gently incurving rim from a knife cut foot ring, the interior resist decorated with a flower blossom in between a pair of phoenix flying in opposite directions, all against a brown flecked ground, the exterior covered in a dark blackish-brown glaze ending on the lower body to expose the tapering buff footrim.
