The heavily potted sides flaring upwards to a finger groove below the rim, covered inside and out with a lustrous black glaze finely streaked with a blanket of narrow 'hare's fur' markings, thinning to dark brown at the rim and pooling in a line above the circular foot ring exposing the coarse brown ware
