A Tucker Corporation styling illustration, c. 1949,
gouache with coloured pencil highlights on artist's board, an elevated frontal view depicts Tucker's car of the future, a sporting roadster. A prominent feature of the roadster is the 'steer horn' bumper, a design hallmark that to this time had not been utilised in automotive design. Matted, framed and glazed as it was when it hung in the Tucker offices. Its dimensions are 17 x 19in.

  • The vendor of these items are family of the Assistant Treasurer of Tucker Corporation. When the doors closed he was given these two drawings and the Illinois Manufacturer plates for the first production car of 1948.
    The illustrations can be strongly attributed to Read Viemeister of the LIppencott Margolies Design team. With e-mail correspondence from his son Tucker Viemeister, and also Reads partner Budd Steinhilber, we have been able to attribute the authorship of these drawing to Read Viemeister.
