  The Tourbillon Souverain produced from 1999 to 2003, is venerated as one of F.P. Journe's horologic masterpieces. This reference was presented with the prestigious 'Aiguille d'Or' in the 2004 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix and the Men's Model Watch of the Year 2004 by the World Photo Press (WPP). It is distinguished by its micro-engineering finesse that constitutes a one minute tourbillon with a self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring with Phillips terminal curve and constant force remontoir. The remontoir provides a constant force to the balance, equalizing the mainspring's varying power, hence allowing for increasing precision regardless of whether the watch is fully wound or not. Moreover, the inclusion of a blade spring, controlled by a spinning vane, is fueled every second by the force of the mainspring, ensuring a steady flow of power to the balance at a more constant rate and at the same time controlling the progression of the highly accurate dead-seconds hand.
