1965 Velocette 192cc Vogue
Registration no. CAE 790C
Frame no. 37137
Engine no. 70823
Perhaps inspired by Ariel's successful Leader, Velocette took the 'LE' concept a stage further in 1963, launching the faired and enclosed Vogue. Equipped with a new frame and distinctive twin-headlamp fairing, the Vogue handled well and was quieter, though no quicker, than its forebear. Production ceased in 1968. One of only 381 of its kind manufactured, and thus one of Veloce's rarer post-war models, this example was sold new via Fowlers of Bristol to local resident, Bernard Smisson. The Vogue was found by a Mr Tucker for the vendor's father, who recalls that he didn't see another one on the road at the time and remembers it as 'certainly a different ride'. Accompanying documentation consists of old/current Swansea V5/V5C documents and the machine's original logbook listing the vendor's father as '4th Change'.
