The painting is almost certainly by the hand of Mawalan Marika. The Rirratjingu curved clan design is also associated with the Djang'kawu sisters but references Djambawul the thunder man who created whirlpools, cloud and rain.
Bonhams would like to thank Dr Howard Morphy for assisting in the attribution of this bark and identifying the subject matter.
