Two Chinese textile panels
19th century
Both of identical design, in two folds, used to hang around a ceremonial or Peking opera table, the front fold decorated with a banded floral design, the back fold embroidered a medallion of flower heads and butterflies, the four corners decorated with fruit or plants of fortuitous meanings, all against a red ground, embroidery in varying shades of blue and golden threads.
