Footnotes

  • Mother Siegel was a bay filly foaled in 1897. She had five live foals, three of which were winners and including the 1906 brown colt Minoru (by Cyllene) who was leased to King Edward VII and won the Derby and 2,000 Guineas in 1909. Minoru won five other races including the St James's Palace Stakes at Ascot and the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Mother Siegel and Minoru were both from the Colonel Hall-Walker stud.
