  • Colonia was from the famous Tully Stud of Colonel Hall-Walker from just outside of Kildare in Ireland, she was foaled in 1903 by Persimmon out of Sandblast and won the Gimcrack Stakes in 1905, Hall-Walker went on to win in three successive years with Polar Star in 1906 and Royal Realm (sister of Colonia) in 1907, which at the time was an unprecedented feat.
