An aquamarine snuff bottle
1880-1940
Of flattened oval form below a flat lip and an oval foot rim surrounding a deep, flat foot, the front of the bottle carved to depict a seated Bodhisattva, reversed by a calligraphic couplet in clerical script taken from the Qianziwen reading xing jing qing yi, xin dong shen pi, "If one's disposition is calm, emotions are easy, but if the heart is anxious, the spirit is forever weary."
