An unusual pair of electroplated salad servers

The cylindrical ebonised wood handles carved in the Cantonese manner, reeded ferrules and stems, the gilded oval bowls simulating leaves with engraved veins and wavy-edge rims, in a fitted leather case, length 29.5cm, together with a cased silver sugar caster, maker's mark rubbed, Chester 1923, octagonal baluster form with panelled sides, the pierced dome cover with bell finial, height 22cm, a cased four-piece cruet set, by Alfred Barnard, London 1901, comprising: two salts, two pepper pots and two salt spoons, baluster form with panelled sides, a further pair of salts, by Atkin Bros, Sheffield 1921, cauldron form with pie-crust rims, each raised on three scrolled hoof feet and a cased three-piece silver christening set.
