Two silver-gilt needlecases
apparently unmarked
Tapering cylindrical form with upswept curve hinged lid, the first with thumbpiece modelled as a man on a horse, the body with two C-scroll cartouches embossed with Dutch genre scenes, the second with dog thumbpiece, the body with two similarly embossed friezes, both raised on an applied domed oval foot, with later grilles heights 12cm and 10cm respectively; together with a late 18th/early 19th century Scandinavian hovedvansoeg, apparently unmarked, of conventional form, all-over embossed with scrolls, shells and flowers, hinging in half to reveal a gilt interior, terminating in a circular flared foot, height 7cm.
