A Victorian silver three-piece tea service
by George John Richards & Edward Charles Brown, London 1859
Compressed baluster form, the teapot with domed hinged lid applied with scroll and anthemion border and surmounted by a knoped baluster finial, all-over engraved with Turkish-style foliate scrolls, the body with two vacant reserves, scroll-capped handle with ivory insulators, raised on four bead and scroll feet with scroll embellished junctions, the sugar bowl and milk jug similarly decorated; together with a pair of silver Fiddle pattern sugar tongs by Henry Hyde, London 1847, plain, height of teapot 20cm, weight 49oz. (4)
