An unusual carved red lacquer saya inro
The saya by Yosei, 18th century
Of wide form, bearing a mottled-brown ground, each side with a circular panel of tsuishu-lacquer, carved with exotic plants in the Chinese manner, signed Yosei zo, containing a two-case silver inro, unsigned; with a tsuishu-lacquer ojime carved with falling maple leaves, unsigned, and a tsuishu-lacquer netsuke of a table carved on the top with a resting kirin, unsigned.
