Three inro and a kinchaku
17th to 19th century
The first of four cases, black lacquer, decorated in takamakie with kimono on a rack (tagasode), unsigned, 5.5cm (2 3/8in); the second, a miniature black lacquer single-case inro with a gold lacquer landscape, unsigned, 4.5cm (1¾in), with a metal netsuke in a shape of a tsurube (well bucket), unsigned; the third of boxwood, carved with Kinko on the carp, signed Gyokushinsai, 8.5cm (3 3/8in), with a metal ojime inlaid with a floral plant, signed Ju, and a wood netsuke of a carp swimming upstream, unsigned; the kinchaku of coconut shell and leather, carved with a dragon in a storm, 9.5cm (3¾in).
