A do maru yoroi armour
Late Edo Period, 18th/19th century
The sixteen-plate hoshi bachi made to imitate a style of the early Kamakura Period, mounted in ni-ho-jiro style with the gilt plates overlaid with broad shinodare and having a large tehen kanamono; on the leather-covered mabisashi is a modern kuwagata dai with kuwagata and a demon head maedate; a ko manju jikoro of o-zane black-lacquered and laced separately with blue-dyed doe skin, the fukigaeshi with a gilt shishi; black-lacquered iron menpo with hair moustache and chin tuft, a fabric covered manju-wa and gilded iron shino gote; chu-sode of o-zane tapering towards the top laced in blue doe skin with a sun in red lacquer; the do of domaru style without hinges, constructed and laced as the sode with the red sun on the front, hinged gyo yo with gilt shishi, gilt kawara haidate and gilt o-tateage suneate and a pair of kutsu; together with an armour box and a stand.
