The first, a small pear-shaped vase, the dark brown ground with gilt foliate sprays, a circular panel at each side, one painted with a cockerel, hen and chicks in a garden, the other with a variety of assorted fish in and around baskets on a beach, both panels signed Sozan, signed and sealed beneath Kinkozan zo 5.2cm (6in) high; and a small pair of baluster vases decorated with numerous quail foraging for food among Autumn plants within formal borders, unsigned, 12.1cm (4¼in) high.
