A Shibayama-style inlaid ivory tusk vase

Of typical form, inlaid with an elaborate design of domestic fowl among various flowering plants including peony, cherry blossom, plum blossom and wisteria, while small birds fly above, all inlaid in various materials, signed in a mother-of-pearl tablet Masamitsu; on a tall galleried wood stand supported on five shaped legs and carved with scrolling peonies.
