A gold lacquer kobako (small box) and cover

In the form of two overlapping squares, the gyobu ground of the cover inlaid in aogai with an aerial view of a bridge which spans probably the Uji River, with pine trees on opposite sides, while a swarm of hotaru (firefly), hovers over a stream at night, depicted all around the sides of the box, in gold, red and black takamakie, kirikane and togidashi, the interior of rich nashiji, unsigned; with silk brocade bag and wood storage box. 3.1cm x 9.1cm x 7.6cm (1¼in x 3½in x 3in).
