A black lacquer four-case inro
17th/18th century
Bearing a roiro ground, lacquered and inlaid with a family of chickens, the reverse with pine, prunus and bamboo growing around a woven rattan tsuitate in rubbed gold and coloured takamakie with pewter and aogai inlay, the top and base of nashiji and the interior of red lacquer, signed inside the cover Kahei with kao; with lacquered-earthenware ojime decorated with a trailing vine, unsigned.
