The kinji ground decorated in gold and iroe hiramakie, togidashi and takamakie with details inlaid in aogai on one side with a dragonfly, a bumble-bee, tamamushi (a jewel beetle) and an ant, and the reverse with a mantis and a wasp, signed in raised red lacquer Shiomi Masanari, the interior of plain red lacquer; with a silver filigree ojime engraved with insects crawling over Autumnal plants and flowers, unsigned.
