The roiro ground shading to usu-nashiji, lacquered with a crested hiyodori (brown-eared bulbul) perched on a nanten shrub, in gold and silver takamakie, the interior of red lacquer with matt gold risers, signed Koma Yasutada saku; with glass bead ojime, unsigned.

    The design is by Kano Tan'yu and is illustrated in the woodblock printed book, Gazu Hyakkacho, vol.2, published in 1729. It is the illustration number 34, Hiyodori (Brown-eared bulbul), perched in a Nanten tree (Nandina domestica).
