An Illustration to the 'Shangri' Ramayana: Rama, Lakshmana, Sugriva And Vibhishana being led by the monkey army
Bahu or Jammu circa 1700-17
Opaque watercolor on paper; the troop emerges from a ravine in the mountains into an open field of yellow. Two pairs of monkey soldiers occupy the upper and lower left corners and serve as the scouting party.
