North India, Madhya Pradesh or Rajaasthan, 11th century
Ganesha is enthroned with his consort Siddhi, adorned with a tiered-crown and jewelry across his pot-belly, his face with curling trunk, almond-shaped eyes, and large ears. Siddhi sits in a posture of royal ease on Ganesha's knee and is adorned with similar jewels with her hair arranged in the rounded medallion. The couple is surrounded by diminutive male and female attendants on the supporting base and pillars.
