A set of eleven early Victorian brass alloy Imperial measures, for the County of Cumberland, dated 1857
by Nichol & Fowler, London
All numbered 1210, and measuring a Bushel, Half Bushel, Peck, Gallon (all of these with bar handles, the Bushel engraved with the maker's name), Half Gallon, Quart, Pint, Half Pint, Gill, Half Gill and Quarter Gill (the latter dated 1893 and stamped Doyle & Son), with various Exchequer and verification marks, Bushel diameter 48.6cm, together with seven various glass filling disks, all in a stained pine box, and a brass-edged mahogany smoothing tool, pierced with a handle, 52cm long, (20 including box and discs)
