An unusual Charles II oak panel back armchair
Possibly South Yorkshire, circa 1680
Having an arch-shaped and pierced cresting centred by unusual geometric designs flanked by mask filled pointed finials, above flowerhead carved ears, the back with a narrow scroll-carved panel over a stylized palmette-flower carved panel, the carved downswept open arms flanking a boarded seat, raised on ball-turned front legs, joined by channel-moulded stretchers, repairs to stretchers, 60cm wide x 53cm deep x 108cm high, (23.5" wide x 20.5" deep x 42.5" high)
