A late Victorian brass 'outdoor' 56lb part beamscale assembly, for the County Borough of Barrow-in-Furness
by W. & T. Avery Ltd., Birmingham
Comprising a gallows, beam marked with maker's name and with steel knife edges, shackles and pans with chains, all but the chains numbered '132', the earliest verification mark for 1900, lacking the tripod or stand, all in a black-painted pine lidded box, the beam 67.5cm long, together with an Edwardian brass 'outdoor' 56lb beamscale beam, for the County Borough of Barrow-in-Furness, by Doyle & Son, London, the number '132' struck out, the verification mark for 1909 likewise erased, 75.5cm long, (8 including box)
