The very early history of this car is charted on its Heritage Certificate, which denotes that it was originally manufactured on May 3, 1960. This states that the original colors were Ivory paintwork and tan trim. An unusual annotation to this particular certificate is that it subsequently returned to the factory for re-work before being re-despatched to Daimler Cars Inc. of New York on October 30, 1961.

The SP250 retains its original U.S. warranty document, which states its first owner to have been John Andrews of Hartford, CT. who acquired the car in July 1963 from Faiola Brothers Imported Cars of Newington, CT. A copy of the Connecticut Title document for the car dating from 1966, shows its acquisition by Nicholas Morris of Windsor, CT in December that year. Mr. Morris would retain the car for the next 28 years until the third owner, Barry Flynn, purchased it in May 1994.

The car had previously undergone some restoration work, which had brought it to the current silver grey paint and red interior scheme. After using the car for a number of years, in the early 2000s Mr. Flynn elected to comprehensively refurbish the car with the aim of using it for high speed touring events. The bodywork was prepared by Rick Powers of Saco, ME and redone in a slightly deeper shade of grey. The interior was fully insulated and a full interior kit in deep red leather was sourced from G.W. Bartlett's O.S.I.I. of Muncie Indiana and at the same time a roll bar was fitted, this also being trimmed in red leather.

All told, the work was completed by early 2003, the car being ready for a trip to Mt. Tremblant in Canada, the car being driven all the way from Maine and back. This was the start of a number of similar tours, including the New England 1000. Dark grey Minilite style wheels were fitted along the way and these go with the car, but in the interests of preserving the correct look for the car the original type wheels have been re-fitted. In recent times the car has been the recipient of further mechanical work with particular attention to the engine.

Presented in very tidy order, this, the more actively used of the two cars is accompanied with a file of invoices for the work that was carried out roughly 10 years ago, together with more recent bills for engine work and an original handbook.
