1971 Fiat 850 Spider
Chassis no. 100GBS10102501
The Fiat 850 was produced from 1964-1973 with about 2.3 million produced in the various forms worldwide. Around 140,000 were Spiders. Originally the 850 had an 843cc engine producing 49hp and a top speed of 90 miles per hour. In 1968 Fiat introduced the 903cc motor with its improved performance to the Spider and the Coupe. This 850 Spider has that new, correct and original 903cc motor, with an output of 52 horse power.
The styling of this Spider was designed by Bertone. Bertone is an Italian car company specializing in styling and coachwork. They have styled cars for Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Ferrari, Fiat, Lancia, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and others. Incidentally, Fiat now owns Bertone, as well as Ferrari, Alfa and Chrysler.
This close to the last year production was the pinnacle of styling and performance for the 850 Spider. Elegant with its champagne exterior with cardinal red interior and black convertible top. It has the optional chrome wire wheels with white wall tires, luggage rack and front and rear bumper over riders, make for an attractive overall appearance. Included with this car comes the optional tonneau cover, original Fiat sales brochures, tool kit with jack and owner's manual.
Not many of these cars have survived, especially one in such extraordinary condition as this one. This car is road ready for summer time enjoyment, all it needs is a new enthusiast!
