An original Jerry Garcia lithograph Wetlands II, , gifted by Jerry Garcia to his brother and sister-in-law, Clifford "Tiff" Garcia and Gayle Garcia
Signed by Jerry in pencil in the lower, right margin. In fine condition.
The original was created in 1985, during the same time period as Wetlands I, Facets I and II, Blue Iceberg, Brain, and Alien Craft. With the exception of the few oils Jerry did in 1959 while in art School, the handful of airbrush pieces are the largest artworks that Jerry ever did. Wetlands II is one of the most recognizable and popular pieces of Jerry's work. It was also one of the first limited edition lithographs to sell out.
As stated by Tiff: "Wetlands II ... was given to me and my wife by my brother, Jerry Garcia, in the early 1990s. Every now and then a surprise package would arrive ... and it would be one or maybe two or three of Jerry's latest lithos. Although many of these are displayed in our home, some ... have been stored in their original packaging. Wetlands II is one of those that has remained in the packaging that we received it in."
