A table owned by Dick Latvala, Grateful Dead tape archivist and founder of the Dick's Picks CD series, Dick Latvala Tabletop from the Grateful Dead Vault
Early flyers from Fillmore West shows laminated around margin of tabletop, Ticket Tron stub laminated to center of tabletop, two peacock feathers laminated to upper and lower middle of tabletop, wood base and frame; ticket stub faded, laminate cracked and punctured in several places, wood scuffed and cracked.
According to Dick's wife, Carol:"After we moved back to Hawaii in late 1973, Dick had a brief access to a friend's carpentry shop. He decided he wanted to make a coffee table with all his handbills. He used and old door and probably the resin that they used for surfboards. It must have been either late 1974 or early 1975. Our friend gave us her tickets from the Winterland shows in October 74. They are in the center. When we moved back to California the table came too. It occupied a place at the ticket sales office and then moved into the vault with Dick. The table has lots of history and as Ry Cooder said 'If things could talk,' this particular table would have some great stories to share."
