- Raised in Ghana and Mauritius, Chris Simpson spent his earliest years exploring the exoticism and colour of the natural world. His photographs, with their clean lines and uncluttered compositions, exemplify his innate understanding of the simplicity of natural beauty and form.
Simpson trained at art school in London in the early 1970s and went on to spend the next 20 years as a fashion photographer in Paris and London, working on publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Elle and shooting high-profile advertising campaigns for British Airways, Mercedes and Bacardi, among others.
Simpson's photographs have been widely exhibited and he has won numerous awards including Hasselblad Master. He now concentrates on his personal body of work.
