Footnotes

  • A comparable set is housed in the University of Glasgow Library. This set is known to have come from the photohistorian and collector, Robert O. Dougan, who sold his entire collection of Hill and Adamson material to the University of Glasgow Library in 1953, having acquired it from the widow of the photographer Francis Caird Inglis in 1941. Each print is similarly mounted on cream card, although these mounts have been bound together between green cloth-covered hard boards bearing embossed lettering 'Glasgow University Library' and include an introduction and list of titles, presumably created by the University when the set was bound. The prints labelled 14, 15 and 16 are in a different order to those labelled 14, 15 and 16 in the set offered here.

A full list of titles is available on request.
