Cal.102 quartz movement, black dial with two rectangular LCD displays at 12 and 6 for time and chronograph functions respectively, five pushers to adjust all features including light, split time and laps, one recessed set button at 4, gold plated case with snap down back, fitted gold plated Heuer link bracelet with folding metal clasp, together with original fitted box, instructions, swing tag, spare bracelet half and clasp, case, dial and movement signed 40mm.

  • Introduced at a time when quartz movements were viewed as a more accurate companion to high end mechanical pieces and not the near death blow that they became, the Chronosplit represented the first digital, fully electronic watch in the world to also include a chronograph, when it arrived in 1975. Initially offered with one LCD and LED display, the example offered here is the later technical development introduced in 1976 with dual LCD displays. In brushed gold plated finish with matching bracelet, it is very rare to find a Chronosplit with box and papers, especially one in working order.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Like the vast majority of auctioneers Bonhams charge what is known as a Buyer's Premium. Buyer's Premium on all Automobilia lots will adhere to Bonhams group policy:

25% up to £50,000 of hammer price,
20% from £50,001 to £1,000,000 of hammer price,
and 12% on the balance thereafter. This applies to each lot purchased and is subject to VAT.

For Motor Cars and Motorcycles a 15% Buyer's Premium is payable on the first £50,000 of the final Hammer Price of each Lot, and 12% on any amount by which the Hammer Price exceeds £50,000. VAT at the standard rate is payable on the Premium by all Buyers, unless otherwise stated.

Some lots may be subject to VAT on the Hammer Price. These lots will be clearly marked with the relevant symbol printed beside the lot number in the catalogue.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, cheque with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveller's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.

Credit card charges: a surcharge of 2% is applicable when using Mastercard, Visa and overseas debit cards.
