  • This very early Aston Martin Virage was first registered in 1990 and originally carried the registration 'G505 VUU'. An automatic transmission model and the 23rd production car built, it was registered to one S Miller before changing hands in 1992, passing to one Alan Phillip Mennell, of Epworth, Doncaster. In 1996 the Aston changed hands again, this time passing to Mr S Hester, of Lamina Dielectrics Limited, Billingshurst, West Sussex, It was at this point that it was registered on private plates 'RO 1179'. Between 1996 and 1999 the car had various works carried out at ADD Speed Engineering, of Horsham, West Sussex including a '12,000-mile' service (at 14,843 miles in 1997) and water drains fitted to the fuel filler.
    Its late owner acquired the car in January 1999 at 29,136 miles and the vehicle was reregistered 'G121 WFG'. Since then it has been used in the summertime only and kept in a climate-controlled, purpose-built garage as part of a private collection, including two other Astons. While in the current ownership the car has undergone considerable refurbishment (see documentation on file). Works undertaken include a complete bare-metal strip-down, rebuild and re-spray in 2004, which included replacing corroded/rusting panels (in all the usual weak spots) and renewing the offside and nearside lower front wings, door posts and door seals. Genuine Aston Martin parts were used, as evidenced by invoices and documents supplied. The quality of the restoration speaks for itself and needs to be seen to be appreciated. It was a labour of love by its enthusiastic owner that was rewarded when the Virage was driven in front of H M The Queen in April 2005 at The Royal Windsor St George's Day Festival of Aston Martin.
    Extensive service history is available dating back to the car's first two visits to the factory, followed by JCT 600 Ltd (Bradford), Add Speed Engineering Ltd (Horsham), Country Motors (Axminster), Shute Garage (Axminster) and AMS Porsche (Honiton).
    The current recorded mileage total is circa 35,000 and there are numerous original invoices, MoT certificates and other documents on file. Finished in Buckinghamshire Green with matching carpets and tan leather upholstery, 'G121 WFG' is presented in generally very good condition and offered with old-style logbook, MoT to August 2012 and Swansea V5. Although regularly started, the car has not been driven for the last six months and some re-commissioning may be required before it returns to the road.
