HENRIETTA MARIA and ELIZABETH OF BOHEMIA

Autograph letter signed by Queen Henrietta Maria ("Henriette Marie R"), in French, to a princely supporter ("Mon cousin"), expressing her obligations and thanks for the offer of money made through the Commandeur de Souaré, 2 pages, eighteenth century dockets, guard, two unobtrusive stains, small 4to, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, 23 July 1645; with a letter signed and subscribed by Elizabeth of Bohemia ("your assured frend Elizabeth"), to William Murray, Groom of her brother the King's Bedchamber ("Good Mr Murrey", addressed to "Mr William Murrey/ ...ie Bedchamber"), pressing for the relief of the family of her late servant Francis Galbreth, one page, integral address leaf, guard, some wear and staining, especially in the right-hand margin, address panel defective, folio, the Hague, 16/26 May 1628 (2)

Footnotes

Elizabeth of Bohemia's letter is to William Murray, later Earl of Dysart, her brother Charles I's childhood companion and whipping boy, who two years earlier had received the grant of Ham House, for which he is remembered today.
