ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT
Psalterium secundum usum Ecclesiae Anglicanae, ILLUMINTED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM, in English, 196 pages, 18 to 19 lines per page, written in dark brown ink, one- to five-line initials throughout in gold, red and blue, line-fillers in blue, red and gold, 4 large illuminated miniatures (including Annunication, Adoration of the Magi and Crucifixion scenes) and 5 smaller ones, most pages with a single wide side-border filled with acanthus leaves in various colours and curling leafy tendrils, most of the small flowers, berries and leaves in gold, with occasional birds, griffin, dragon, angels etc., the last 6 leaves (including one large miniature) left undecorated and the text ending half way through Psalm 58, on 49 unsewn bifolia, loosely gathered into contemporary velvet-covered boards, 212 x 137mm., [c.1900]
