Footnotes

  • A very good copy of the second edition of Gulliver's Travels, published a month after the first edition (which sold out in less than a week), and here uniformly bound with the spurious third volume which appeared in 1727. Our copy corresponds to Teerink's AA edition, with one variation as noted by Teerink: "Hubbard also says that copies of the AA edition occur with title 4 of the B edition". See illustration on prededing page.
