Lot Details
BARTHOLOMAEUS ANGLICUS
De proprietatis rerum, second edition in English, printer's device at end, title with impressoris correctly spelt but without the imprimatur beneath (a blind impression of type in its place, possibly the same text subject to further research), worming to upper cover and first 30 or so and last 10 leaves, but the bulk of the book unaffected, seventeenth-century signature of Fran. Swift on title, Osterley Park bookplate of the Earl of Jersey, Quaritch collation note at end signed by Raymond Kilgarith, contemporary blindstamped calf over wooden boards (an inserted note by Graham Pollard suggesting the much worn roll has analogies with Oldham SV b.1.), rebacked, clasps missing [STC 1537], folio, Thomas Berthelet, 1535
