Manuscript miscellany, comprising letters etc by literary figures, scholars, etc., including Sir Walter Scott (to his printers, discussing proof corrections and asking for a list of presentation copies), William Cobbett, Anthony Panizzi (fine letter to Benjamin Hawes MP, who had written to congratulate him on his appointment to the British Museum Library, 1837 – "the Public will not, I fear, be pleased with my firm opinion with respect to classed Catalogues"), T.F. Dibdin, Coventry Patmore (to Truebners, announcing American publication of 'The Espousals', the second part of The Angel in the House, 1856), Felicia Hemans (written to her aunt and signed "F Browne" from Gwrych, shortly before her eighth birthday in 1801), Henri Bergson (on Spinoza), Thomas Campbell ("...The horrors of the Poles appear to be thickening. Their enemies are driving them out of patience into suicide.
